This is an interesting paraphrase of John 16:5-15 that focuses on the elements pertaining to the activity of the Holy Spirit. Compare it with the original reading.

"It’s actually better for you if I’m not here because when I go to the Father, I will send the Spirit of God. He’s going to come to you as a Helper, as a Guide, and as a Leader. And if I don’t go away, I can’t send Him to you. I know we’re enjoying doing life together. I’m with you, and you’re with Me. But when I go, I will put My Spirit inside you so that He will be in you and not just with you as I have been." - Lee Cummings

Note the emphasis on the role of the Holy Spirit. The role of the Holy Spirit is something that is often de-emphasized in many western churches. Some attribute this to our cultural bias against the supernatural or because of the influence of modernism in our society - including churches.

In contrast to the western church, right now, I believe there is a powerful move of the Holy Spirit taking place in places like Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

We know from Joel 2:28-31 that the context of the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit are the days preceding the "Day of the Lord".

"And afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
Even on My menservants and maidservants,
I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth,
blood and fire and columns of smoke.
The sun will be turned to darkness
     and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and awesome Day of the LORD."
