Create a top and front (full-sectional) view of the following object. When completed, dimension the object. In addition, create a layout with title block. You determine an appropriate scale (of the layout) to fit the views and their respective dimensions onto an 8.5 x 11 sheet.
Because this is your first sectional drawing, I have provided a sample solution to this activity below. The sample contains all the dimensions needed to construct the drawing. The placement of dimensions need not be exactly the same as my sample but should follow guidelines discussed within this course. Because this drawing contains only one section, you do not need to include section labels.
Sample Solution
Units: inches
You should have a separate layer for each of object, hidden, section, and dimension. You will notice in the above sample that a dimension appears inside the hatched portion of the sectional view. This is acceptable when it improves readability. When you have important information (such as dimensions) inside a hatched area, the portion of the hatched area containing the information should be removed. You can do this by first exploding the hatch (using the explode tool) and then use the Break 2 Points tool to remove pieces of the hatching.
Save the drawing as "section1" inside your Unit7 folder.
