Drafting Settings
This activity will provide you with the opportunity to practice using the various
drafting settings. You will be required to produce 2 drawing files. There are not to be
any drawing objects placed within these files. Your task is to set up the indicated
drawing environments, save and then close the file.
Start AutoCAD 2000 LT and create the following empty files with
the indicated drafting settings.
- Units: Decimal, Precision - 0.0 (1 decimal place)
- Angle: Decimal Degrees, Precision - 0 (whole units), Clockwise, Direction -
West
- Drawing Area 8 x 6
- Coordinates turned on
- Snap on and set to: x = .25, y = .25
- Grid on and set to: x = .5, y = .5
- Polar Tracking on, Increment Angle: 45 degrees, Polar Angle Measurement: Absolute
- UCS Display: on only (origin off).
- Scroll the working grid to the center of your screen.
Save as "draft_set1" inside your Unit2
folder
- Units: Engineering, Precision - 0'-0.00"
- Angle: Decimal Degrees, Precision - 0.0 (1 decimal place), Counter Clockwise,
Direction - East
- Drawing Area 5.5" x 5.5"
- Coordinates turned on
- Snap on and set to: x = .1", y = .1"
- Grid on and set to: x = .2", y = .2"
- Polar Tracking on, Increment Angle: 30 degrees, Polar Angle Measurement: Relative
- UCS Display: on (displayed at origin).
- Scroll the working grid to the center of your screen.
Save as "draft_set2" inside your Unit2
folder
