I suspect the notion of "spiritual warfare" is one of the most misunderstood and underestimated influences in western culture today. In our "enlightened" culture, because we don't physically see it, we dismiss it. People who ascribe any weight to it, would probably be considered dumb or naive in many circles.
What is particularly worrisome, is this kind of spiritual activity seems to be ramping up. In addition to increased levels of stress, anxiety, depression, and bondage, it's unchecked presence in our lives bears the kind of negative fruit described in 2 Tim 3:1-4
