Drafting 10 - Student Instructions

Drafting 10 - Student Instructions

The Drafting 10 content provided is partitioned into eight distinct units of study. Please proceed carefully through each unit in the order indicated. Dispersed throughout this course are numerous activities related directly to the content discussed. Many of the activities are compulsory evaluation items while others are not. A listing of the compulsory activities is indicated in the table below.

Organizing Your Work

Before you begin, it is strongly suggested that you create a course folder to store all your work. Within this course folder, create additional folders that correspond to the unit numbers within this course. It is within these unit folders that you should be saving all your work. If you are working within a networked environment, the course folder and its sub-directories should be stored in the network folder assigned to you. Indicated in the table below is the recommended directory structure for this course.

Suggested folder and file names are indicated in red. All of the activities indicated below are required elements for this course. In addition to the required activities indicated below, there are also a number of interactive games, review questions, and online quizzes dispersed throughout this course. Though not required elements for this course (at this time), you are encouraged to use them for review purposes.

Note: It is advisable that your files be stored in a secure and stable location. Floppy disks are notorious for developing bad sectors. Please avoid using floppy disks as your primary means of storage. You are responsible for any lost or damaged files.

Submitting Assignments

When you have completed and saved your work (using the correct filename), please email the file as an attachment to your instructor for evaluation. Your instructor's email address is indicated in the Course Instructor section within this course. Because files can become damaged in the transmission process, it is important that you do not delete the original file. You may be asked to re-submit the assignment.

When you email the assignment to your instructor, please include the following information in the body of the email message:

  • Your complete name
  • Your school
  • Your school's phone #
  • The Unit #
  • The Activity #

Corrected assignments will be returned to you in one to two weeks. Your mark and comments will be indicated right within the drawing or written assignment. At the end of every week, any marked assignments will be entered into the Student Reporting System.
